JodieBowie : A Lot Of ALBUM REVIEWS! New Music You Need To Check Out

This is long over due I am sure! But so much exciting new music has been brought to my attention recently, as well as being brought out into the world... the music industry is currently thriving that is for sure! Gigs are soon to make a come back to! I hope you are still planning on supporting live music! 😉

Sorry for the massive delay! Life has been a little bit of a whirlwind lately – but I hope this blog has come at a good time to delve into the world of some new awesome music ❤

This post is mostly focused on albums, as a lot have been released this year so far! But there are a few singles that are pretty epic too.

Any bands looking for reviews in the future, please do feel free to drop me a message or send me an email on nozfest@yahoo.com 🙂

Baleful Creed – Latest Album “The Lowdown”
What a cracking awesome album! Definitely one heck of a debut. I’m already looking forward to whatever else they have up their sleeves to release. If you like your hard hitting riffy steady rock ‘n’ roll, then this is the band for you. The perfect accompaniment to a nice cold beverage… preferably in a live music venue. This band sure knows how to nail a riff, that is for sure! You can’t but bang your head and tap your feet to this band. I am loving the track ‘Confused‘, it almost has a bluesy feel to it. I am thoroughly impressed with every track, and I’m really looking forward to being able to catch these guys live hopefully in the future, I’m going to make a point of checking out more of their stuff.

The Struts ft Paris Jackson – Low Key In Love
This is such a gorgeous song, obviously I was going to have good things to say about the track as it is by The Struts, however Paris Jackson… what a talent! Clearly takes after her Dad. I can see this becoming my summer song very quickly, I am already obsessed! So obsessed I actually bought a Luke Spiller pink suit to match. Of course this is very much a pop song, a lot more poppy that most of The Struts previous tunes… but it is so beautiful, catchy and fulfilling you are probably going to low key fall in love with this song ❤

The Treatment – Latest Album “Waiting For Good Luck”
The guys really stepped up their game with this album. This is rock ‘n’ roll in its purest form, and I believe this is The Treatment at their finest. This album is an absolute banger from start to finish, the classic riffs, the strong powerful vocals alongside catchy lyrics, it is everything the band has ever brought to the table, expect everything sounds so much BIGGER and I’m living for it! My personal favourite track has to be “Barman” because I’m a sucker for a good old blues tune! That’s one thing I love about this band, the fact they can totally own balls out rock ‘n’ roll but also nail a good ‘ole blues tune too. That riff on “Lightning in a Bottle” though… corr! This album is going to leave you singing along for days! I cannot wait to have them headline Nozfest!

Mason Hill – Debut Album “Against The Wall”
This was well and truly worth the wait. This album still blows my mind every single time I listen to it. There is no other word to use except for INCREDIBLE! I’m sure this album is going to bring in a lot of new fans for the band, it’s perfectly executed in my opinion. I am really loving how the songs blend in with each other, that is a really smooth touch. You can just feel how much passion, time and effort the guys have put into this record. My personal favourite has to be “Broken Son“, this song always makes me stop what ever I am doing just to fully enjoy it’s awesomeness! I get so easily distracted by this band. Go check it out for yourselves! You WON’T be disappointed, I promise.

Chez Kane – Debut Album “Chez Kane”
I for one am so pleased and proud that Chez Kane has a solo album out, and of course it is such an 80’s power ballad throw back!
First things first, Chez is an incredible vocalist and it really is an absolute treat to hear her belt out some proper 80’s rock ‘n’ roll in a full album, so you can fully appreciate her talent. My favourite track is “Get It On” because it is such a banger and in some way or another I feel like I resonate with it. This album would sound amazing driving down the sunset strip in a convertible, no matter the era. I know for sure Chez is going to have picked up quite a following with this adventure and I’m really looking forward to seeing where this takes her. Fingers crossed for some lives shows soon!!!

Stop Stop – Latest Album “Low Cost Life”
Damn this is a bloody good album; they’ve really gone up a notch with this and I swear I’m not being biased. A New StOp, sToP! Album – Oh yes PLEASE!! Straight off the bat, I’m just going to say my favourite track from the album is “Banana“… go listen and you’ll see what I mean. I like how there are some new sounds to Stop, Stop in this album, for example “Turned My Life Around” and “Let Me Fill Your Void“, I’ve never heard the band go down that route before but by god does it suit the – in fact if you’re on Spotify, check those songs out first! They are going to convert a lot of fans with this album for sure.
I cannot wait to re-open my favourite venue with my favourite band ❤

Skinny Knowledge – Debut Album “Don’t Turn Out The Lights”
Of course this album was going to be awesome, it is the brain child and musicianship of local legend Andy Smooth. I’ve left a link to their latest music video “Sayonara” which you should totally check out! This band in my opinion are a total 90’s throw back, which isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s super cool to actually see Andy branch out and do his own thing with his own band, I can see these guys going far and gaining a good following across the UK. If you’re into your Green Day, Foo Fighters, All Time Low etc then this band is going to rock your world and take you right back to your youth.

The Fallen State – River
Another awesome new single from The Fallen State. I’ve recently got into this band, and I wish I checked them out sooner. If you haven’t heard their stuff yet, now is the time!
This band are definitely on the heavier rock side of NWOCR, but they are absolutely brilliant and knocked it out the park again with this track. A bit different from their other recent song “Knives”, but this is something that can definitely get stuck on the mind. The music video for this is professionally executed which just adds to the epicness of this track.

David Ryder Prangley – Hello
This was a surprise! David Ryder Prangley of Rachel Stamp is set to release an album titled “Vampire Deluxe” and this is the first single from the album.
This is something quite different! Almost symphonic operatic in the style and performance… in other words, it is very David Ryder Prangley. Definitely some David Bowie influences seeping through there. If you enjoyed Rachel Stamp back in the day, you are may gravitate towards this new style. I do however think this wont be everyone’s cup of tea, it is very unique.

Buckcherry – So Hott
This single comes from Buckcherry’s latest album “Hell Bound” which is set to be released on the 25th June.
This is classic Buckcherry and I’m totally living for it! This band helped me get out of a massive mental health rut last summer, and I’m buzzing for some new music from this band – I can already tell this album is not going to disappoint. This track is giving my very 2010/2015 Buckcherry, but they had some of the best rock ‘n’ roll tunes then so I can only imagine what is coming with this album. I feel it is definitely a bit more upbeat compared to their last album “Warpaint” – this is probably going to inject some FUN into our summer… which I think we are all craving right now. I can foresee a summer rock ‘n’ roll party album in the making here 😉

I hope these reviews have some what inspired you to check out some new music. Honestly, please do keep your ears to the ground, because this year is a big year for new music – it really is making waves in the charts.
I’m so proud I get to check out all this awesome new music first hand – I’m so lucky!

JodieBowie : My STYLE ICONS! (People Who Influence My Style)

I thought this might be a cheeky and fun blog to post! I may even make it into a video, who knows! This style is pretty much music related as well, because bands and music really do influence every single part of my life… even fashion.
I’ve noticed recently that quite a few people are sort of adopting pieces of my style – which is totally cool! But I thought it would be interesting to see where I get my own influences from. See if it surprises any of you 😉

Disclaimer : A lot of guys actually voted for me to post this blog, which I am totally loving, because this blog is probably going to be more for your benefit than anyone else’s…

Before I dive in, I’m just going to be blatantly honest and say that I’ve never been a girly girl. Girls ideals have never really appealed to me, so if you’re here thinking your going to find some awesome new girls to follow on TikTok… you’ve come to the wrong chick.

I wear an awful lot of mens clothes, and I do often shop in the mens sections in stores. I just love the alternative ranges they have, and I’m hugely influenced by feminine males. There is just something about a guy in eyeliner that makes the heart race, you know?
I’ve been taking influences from rockstars since I was 7 years old, so it’s no surprise it has followed me through life. I’d probably wear a suit to my own wedding!

Luke Spiller of The Struts

Luke Spiller – The Struts
Luke is incredibly glam, and his style changes rather often (much like my own). He is very much a chameleon, just like the likes of David Bowie. The thing about Luke Spiller is, he combines all the best rockstars into one person i.e; David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Joan Jett, Freddie Mercury and Mick Jagger. I’ve tried to copy his outfits a few times now, and I always feels so confident about my image when I do. I think I am probably going to model myself on this guy the most just because if I was a dude, I’d look like him 100%.
I’ve noticed that lately he has started wearing suits, and I am absolutely living for this – because I myself am experimenting with this look!
I absolutely love how he plays with the androgynous look and combines all of his favourite musicians into one style, which is something I try and do as well – take small influences from each person until you come up with your own style.
My two Luke Spiller outfits are inspired by the “Strange Days” and “Low Key” music videos.

Tyler Bryant

Tyler Bryant – Tyler Bryant and The Shakedown
Hair goals! Why do guys always have so much nicer hair than women?! I’ve been a big fan of Tyler Bryant’s style for a few years now – I just love his hair, one of the reasons I dyed mine black back in 2017, and I love his rock ‘n’ roll rockstar look! It’s just so simple yet sleek. The whole black bouncy hair, black leather jacket and black skinny jeans is totally my vibe! Everytime I listen to his music it makes me want to dye my hair black and get loads of layers cut in… which I am debating you know. I’ve been thinking red, but my heart is saying “dye it black again, do it, dye it black” – you rockers are bad influences! I’m never going to be seen with girly hair in dresses at this rate haha.
The Treatment are also a band who rock a very similar vibe in terms of style/image.
I’m pretty sure he rocks the no makeup look as well, which only adds to his masculinity (even though I do think guyliner should be a staple for most guys aha), and just proves how effortless his style is… roll out of bed, shake your hair, put on a leather jacket, done. When I feel like looking extra badass or sexy, I always go for the Tyler Bryant kind of vibe.

Josh Todd of Buckcherry

Josh Todd – Buckcherry
Hot damn! If I could walk around in just jeans and a leather jacket I totally would… but unfortunately, I have bits and pieces that sort of need covering up so they don’t offend the general public. Maybe one day I’ll just leave the house in some saucy piece from Ann Summers and a leather jacket and channel my Josh Todd vibes – he is another person who makes me want to look sexy and badass! Like I want to be noticed! This is why I’m not really girly. I look at blokes and think “corr, I wish I looked like that“.
I am obsessed with Josh Todd’s accessories… i.e his jewellery. That big silver handcuff chain necklace everyone keeps asking me about? Inspired by Josh Todd. I wish I could be as tattooed as him as well, he is just a walking talking piece of art really isn’t he. Look at his cool Rockstar mystique! If only I could look exactly like that!
For the time being I’ll just have to make do with pinching his awesome accessories… like his sunglasses, necklaces, rings and belts.

Jeffree Star

Jeffree Star – Jeffree Star Cosmetics
I guess this might seem like an odd style icon to some of you, seeing as Jeffree is a lot more girly than all the other people on this list. Well, what I like most about Jeffree is the GLAM! I love the effortless blend of his eye makeup looks, and how he just pulls off the colour pink and is just always so classy. I’d love to be classy, but I’m just too masculine and have zero confidence to pull it off. All the makeup I use is Jeffree Star Cosmetics (not here for hate, I’m not fussed if you don’t like or support him) I love all his formulas. As much as I’d love to roll out of bed and look how I want, that isn’t possible, I do need the power of makeup to help me out and I’m still experimenting with how I want my makeup to look – I change my makeup looks on the daily, and that’s something quite cool because you never have to look the same again, you can wipe it off and look totally different the next day; I am really enjoying getting back into playing with colours, eyeliner, contour etc again. I try and do my makeup looks as similar as I can to Jeffree’s, because they are just so damn pretty and I’m a sucker for pretty glam eye looks with lashes… I’m also obsessed with contour. Contour queens in the house!
I feel like my inner Jeffree likes to experiment with colour as well. Jeffree is my girly side coming out, otherwise I’d genuinely wear black all the time. Sometimes there’s a pop of colour in my wardrobe and it’s never subtle. It’s either black or RED or PINK or YELLOW!

Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes

Chris Robinson – The Black Crowes
This is where the obsession with flares came from. I discovered The Black Crowes last summer when I was going through a bit of a rough patch, and fell in love with Chris Robinson’s Mick Jagger/70’s vibes and instantly knew I had to take a few bits of his fashion style. Mainly the flares. I think I really look good in flares, you know? They hug my figure in all the right places and make my legs look pretty sleek.
The thing about the 70’s look is that it’s suitable for a lot of weather types and it’s sort of acceptable to wear all year round. Flares will never not look cool. Glitter, sparkles, faux fur, going for a walk, out for dinner, to a pub or going to a gig… you just can’t really go wrong can you? Plus it gives you the perfect opportunity to stand out a little bit, because not a lot of girls these days go down the 70’s route. This era has always been one that looks bloody good on me though… often get a few looks in this style.

Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman

Patrick Bateman – American Psycho
A fictional character? A fictional psychopath? Really Jodes? YES! Absolutely! Again, I love the subtle class. This is where my love of suits came in. I’ve always wanted to be able to pull off a look in a suit and I just never had the confidence. One day I decided to scratch my itch and bought myself a few suits and realised I didn’t look too bad! I feel like 25 year old Jodie wants to embrace more class, sophistication and strong independent woman vibes…. I’ve done the whole 80’s rocker thing, and as much as I love it, I feel I’m fading away from that era slightly these days.
Another little nod I like to give to Patrick Bateman is wearing human teeth as jewellery. If you’ve seen me out and about before, I’m sure you would’ve noticed I have some suspicious looking ‘pearl’ earrings and a matching necklace… yeah, they are in fact teeth… and I just really really like them. I guess you’ve got to be pretty brave to wear such objects?

Maybe this blog has inspired someone? Maybe change up their style a bit? I’m still struggling myself, I’ve no idea what I want to look like but I think I am getting there slowly and I’m gradually getting more confident!
Image is something we can all experiment with. Fashion is something that helps us to express our personality to the outside world. Besides… being normal is boring!!
Who wants to look like everyone else, when you can stand out ❤

(I bet you all expected to see Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Nikki Sixx on the list didn’t ya)

If you have enjoyed this blog, please do let me know – I may even actually show off some of my own personal style tips/what I like to wear etc in a blog post or video!

Bands That Have Helped My Mental Health Recently (Bands I Run To)

I thought I’d share some positivity in the form of music! Here are some of the bands that keep my spirit lifted when I’m not feeling the best. Maybe they’ll help boost your mood too!

These are the bands 10 times out of 10 I’ll have blasting through my ears when I’m on my run/walk around town 3-4 times a day!

It’s funny isn’t it… if you think about it… music is actually super personal! You can learn a lot about an individual by the music they listen to. I never used to think too much about it, but writing this now, I think it’s quite exciting to learn about people via the means of music!

The Struts
Who doesn’t like The Struts? One day I’ll have as much confidence as Luke Spiller, and maybe one day I’ll even look like him… that’s the friggin’ goal. He’s one gorgeous talented creature that is for sure. Right, let’s stop gawping.
The Struts have so many feel good songs, I honestly can’t help but throw some moves to them. They make my heart beat faster, get my adrenaline pumping, they unlock that little box that has all my serotonin and dopamine kept in it and it comes flooding out when I listen to these guys. This band makes me feel so damn SEXY. I could be strutting down the street, greasy hair up in a ponytail, stale perfume, no makeup… and I’d still feel like the most confident badass in the world – capable of achieving my dreams and grabbing them with both hands. They made me realise that I deserve better, and I am the only people in this world that can give that to myself.
The best thing about this band is that it really doesn’t matter whether you are stone cold sober or completely rat arse drunk… they still sound out of this world and give you the feeling of an orgasm. Can you tell I really like this band yet?
TOP 3 SONGS:
Put Your Money On Me
Primadonna Like Me
Dirty Sexy Money

Kris Barras
Barras is usually on an absolute constant repeat. First thing in the morning, the second my eyes open… reach for the Spotify app… play Kris Barras. SORTED. I’m not sure what it is, but Kris Barras always manages to get me pumped and ready for the day – especially when I used to have to get up for work. I can listen to Kris play guitar all day, I’m always utterly mesmerised when I see him play live. His songs have such attitude, and we know I’m a sucker for anything with proper hearty punchy riffs, and that is exactly what he offers. He is also such a wonderful lyricist and it is a delight to hear him sing. Kris Barras is very talented and I genuinely enjoy just chilling out and embracing that talent. However, I find when I’m out on my walk or run (no matter what time of day) his songs are so motivating and I always come back home with a little more fire in my belly, and a lot more belief in myself. There isn’t a single mood where I won’t listen to Kris Barras – his music has comforted me when I am sad, and it’s also brought me joy when I’m happy. If you’ve ever seen me about town, speed walking around with my headphones in and I’m totally in my own little world and zoned out…. I will definitely be rocking out to Kris Barras. Good luck trying to get my attention when his music is playing!

Steel Panther
If you really really really love me… then you’ll listen to Steel Panther with me. You know, sometimes… the only thing you really really need is… STEEL PANTHER! If I’ve got a bit of a grump on, or I feel like I can take on the entire universe and win, then these are the boys I’m blasting through my earholes. They help me to remember what life was like outside of a pandemic and help to remind me that there is so much life outside of the town I live in. I love the fact that they write all lyrics so many people are too scared to put into a song, and it isn’t rap music… it’s 80’s hair metal! YES QUEENS!!
This band really unleash my inner lioness. I feel the need to backcomb my hair, pull on my ripped leggins and try to lick everything in sight. As the saying goes “you don’t know the real Jodie till you’ve seen her dance to Steel Panther“, and it is so true! Steel Panther are my F*CK YOU band, they help get rid of all that built up negativity I keep locked away deep inside but they also fill me right up to the brim with confidence and give me an ego boost so if anyone was to come up to me and decide to be a bit of a dick, it wouldn’t be their best decision.
TOP 3 SONGS:
17 Girls In A Row
If You Really Really Love Me
Tiger Woods

Paul Weller
Even though this guy is the definition of a musical genius, I seem to gravitate to him most in my lowest of moods. Maybe the emotions hit differently or something. He just seems to know how to heal open wounds, with his smooth like chocolate vocals, and his genuine genius lyrics partnered with the most gorgeous guitar tunes you could ever dream of. When I’m in a hole that is basically drowning in sadness and I’m sinking very quickly into a depression or fit of anxiety, I always go to Weller. I love his music all the time, he is a God like genius; but when I’m out on my walks and I’m feeling incredibly alone and have a lot of sad emotions I haven’t quite got out my system yet, I’ll have Weller in my ears. I’ll completely zone out and switch off from the outside world and immerse myself in his music, remembering a really beautiful period of my life and I always seem to imagine myself looking my absolute best, in stiletto heels and a gorgeous sequined dress and I’ll be dancing like I know how to dance and in those moments, life will seem peaceful again. Nothing calms me more than Weller.
TOP 3 SONGS:
Above The Clouds
Out Of The Sinking
Saturns Pattern

The Treatment
You can’t get much more upbeat and motivating than The Treatment. I always stick on The Treatment when I need to kick my arse into action. I have the best job in the entire world… I get to work with rock bands! Every little girls dream right? No? Well it was mine! Being a pretty little princess never appealed to me, I always wanted to be a badass independent rocker. However, sometimes I get stuck in a rut and have little to no motivation… but The Treatment pick me up by my lady bollocks and shout in my face “hey! look! we’re awesome, and so are all the other bands! get up, get dressed, go on that run and organise a damn festival!“. They are a great band to listen to on a run or walk, I’m always singing along out loud – I probably make the locals worry! There is so much power behind them, in the drums, in the vocals and in the guitars. It really does drive you to achieve your goals and to be the absolute best you can be. They demand to be listened to LOUD! I always feel like the rock chick I am after a good head banging session to these guys. Sometimes we need a kick up the butt and a proper look in the mirror to go out there and be proud of who we are!
TOP 3 SONGS:
Let It Begin
Rat Race
Let’s Get Dirty

The Who
A band of my childhood! I have to admit, The Who sound the best in the summer… I’m not sure why I think that, but during the hot weather The Who are my GO TO! I love listening to The Who, I just have a lot of good memories and vibes attached to this band. I get a prop buzz when I get their lyrics right as well… there just isn’t anyone writing songs like they did back in the day. Take me right back to my roots, remind me who I am at heart and that I am clever, passionate and kind of awesome in my own weird way. I gain a swagger in my walk, a spring in my step, a bounce in my hair, a confidence in my personality, I gain some faith in myself again when I rock out to The Who. They’ve been with me through my whole life pretty much, I don’t remember not being a fan of The Who. I am 100% authentic Jodie when I have this band in the background… the innocent, music loving, kind, sweet, passionate little rock ‘n’ roller I always am, ever since childhood. They should know!

Top 5 Songs of September & October

Where is this year going? I’m literally blinking and it’s flashing past right before me. I don’t like, can we slow down a bit please? Anyway, another month and time for another Top 5 songs. This one is so friggin random in terms of my music tastes as well… to be honest I haven’t sat down and listened to much music lately – shocker!!! Click here to read the previous blog post in this series.

Remember there is a YouTube playlist which includes all these wonderful songs from each month, and also a Spotify playlist which you can find via searching for ‘jodieharris15‘.

Crash Diet
IDIOTS – CRASHDIET
“We’re all idiots…. there’s nothing wrong with me…”

I was actually supposed to attend HRH Sleaze in Sept but unfortunately I couldn’t make it due to being let down by friends which is totally fine. But sadly I missed out on getting to see the Crashdiet guys!!
For some odd reason this song gives me very slight ‘Status Quo’ vibes – If you have seen Bula Quo you might get what I mean. Nice and heavy, nice and sleazy, bit of nice eye candy, good tune. What more could you ask for really?

2016McBustedGettyImages-454451983-3-920x598.jpg

SENSITIVE GUY – MCBUSTED
“We went for dinner at a steak restaurant….. I’m vegetarian….”

Yes, I like McFly and Busted, shuuussshh!!
I have literally been belting this one out so much this month – I have been going through some stuff over the last few months, and it sucks… but this little pick me up just sort of reminded me of who I am, and that I am great and I should be happy.
In all honesty, I discovered this song again at the beginning of September when I was going through something which involved a girl I really don’t like… I had this song on full blast 24/7 for a week…. being deadly serious. It’s not the best song, but it get me through a time where I needed to just scream at the world and it made me feel so much better. The best part was when I finally managed to get in time for the “I got a badass eco friendly motor scooter to ride on”… now I Hi-5 myself each time I get that bit right 😉

Lady-Gaga-GettyImages-634029746.jpg
YOU AND I – LADY GAGA
“It’s been two years since I let you go, I couldn’t listen to a joke or Rock and Roll…”

I’ve no idea why, but this song reminds me of a special someone – no idea why, there is absolutely no correlation whatsoever, but when this song is on, I feel all warm and fuzzy, and… so… EUGH enough cute stuff!! Lady Gaga is actually very talented and her voice is absolutely stunning. I think sometimes she’s a little underrated in certain genres, but I do love a bit of Gaga. She is a very inspiring woman, I’ve not listened to Gaga for so long, years maybe, I have no idea why this song suddenly popped back into my head.. but I’m glad it did because it is a gem. It’s a cute feel good song as well, the video is insane! I honestly wish I had the words to describe just how beautiful her voice is.

piston.jpg
FADE OUT – PISTON
“You’ll never satisfy, you’ll want to fantasize…”

Holy Sh*t!!! Now THAT is what I call a band!!!
Every single element of this band is phenomenal and on top form. These guys were absolutely awesome at The Joiners and they do an absolutely belting cover of Proud Mary – definitely check it out!
These guys have the visuals, the stage presence, the voice, the hard hitting drums, the perfect driving bass, the classic rock guitars – if you like your rock ‘n’ roll then this is a band you simply must turn an ear towards.

bsc
WHITE TRASH MILLIONARE – BLACK STONE CHERRY
“Wanna be a white trash millionaire, ain’t got much and I don’t care, count your cash and kiss my ass…”

Unpopular opinion – I don’t actually like Black Stone Cherry. However, this was my “I need to shout at the world” song of the month. Absolute perfect song to just bang your head to, sing along without a care in the world and let yourself go for 3minutes. I met someone who looked down their nose at me about because we have a similar career path but not really at all, I guess in their eyes they are doing better than I am, which is totally cool… I don’t want no beef or anything, I’m happy plodding along doing what I do – but this is the song that came straight into my head after that debarkle. Kind of a little F U to all the people who said I am ‘entitled’ as well. I enjoy working HARD for my success – I genuinely much rather work myself to the bone, go through blood sweat and tears and get no where, knowing I tried my best, than to just have it all handed to me on a plate.

OCTOBER:

70664362_469682723887824_4191347602211471360_o
TORN – CHEZ KANE
“A stranger to myself, locked up in my own head…”

So proud of Chez! I can’t wait to hear what other new music she creates. She is so talented and a wonderful lady. Chez has such a wonderful voice, I hope she manages to go far I really do – even her covers are beautifully done.
I hear you chick in these lyrics! I can’t say I know exactly what you have been through as of late, but I can totally relate to the lyrics and the concept on so many levels and I really do love a song that can speak to someone like that. Torn is definitely one of those songs. I’m sure we can all agree on some degree that we ourselves have felt like we have been torn in two and that our thoughts sometimes do take over our head and we forget who we really are. I know for sure that is me at the moment.

SHE HATES ME – PUDDLE OF MUDD
“She was Queen for about an hour, after that shit got sour…”

I do love a bit of Puddle of Mudd every now and then. This tune is obviously a CLASSIC. I always somehow manage to find an ‘angry’ song when I need to let off some steam when I am going through situations – this time this little beauty is the song that’s been helping me shout at the world. I’ve no idea why I always end up in situations I don’t want to be in, but it happens all too often. Almost like I should just be a different person if that makes sense.

AGAINST THE WALL – MASON HILL
“You’re dancing with the devil in me…”

Is it really a surprise that Mason Hill are on the Top 5? 😛 I have of course pre-ordered the new album, which I am super excited about – I’m sure you all are too.
If it wasn’t already plainly obvious, Mason Hill are one of my fave bands ❤ I am more than over the moon that they are playing Nozfest 2020. I’m pretty sure I will embarrass myself when I say ‘Hello’, but I will also probably be rocking out extremely hard right at the front. Friggin’ immense new tune! I cannot wait for this new album. Just fantastic! I’m sure the eager and very patient wait is going to be absolutely worth it.

Struts_BodyTalks.jpg
TATLER MAGAZINE – THE STRUTS
“And one day my luck’s gonna change When I’m featured double page living life rich, young and free…”

First of all… it is extremely hard to pick ONE Struts song… so hopefully this one is delightful enough ❤
I saw the guys play at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth, and I am pretty sure I’m in love with the frontman now. He is literally like Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger and Marc Bolan all wrapped into one! Freakin’ amazing ❤ I’m really happy there’s a glam boy bringing back some glam rock too. I mean a proper glam boy too, 1970’s glam… that’s where it is at mate. If you haven’t checked out The Struts yet, I strongly urge you too – you are totally missing out if you haven’t seen them live or at the very least had a tiny bit of a binge on the old YouTube or Spotify. They are in my opinion, pretty much a modern day Queen. If you don’t see or hear just an ickle bit of Freddie in Luke Spiller……………….. are you even listening? Hopefully I’ve chosen a song that portrays that. Please may I have Luke Spiller for Christmas……. PLEASE!!! :’)

Collateral
MR. BIG SHOT – COLLATERAL
“I’m first in line but I’m always on the run, my life is twisted but I’m always having fun…”

Shall I spill a little bit of tea?? Collateral were the first band I booked for Nozfest 2020 😉 I love these guys, they are so awesome. Quite cute going to see them live and have their fans say “please book them for Nozfest!” and I had to stay quiet and act like I didn’t know… when in actual fact they’ve been booked in since June! :’)  These guys are also so lovely and awesome – I can see another ‘brotherly’ bond coming on, like I have with man bands which is so wicked!
Anyway, on with the song! I’m pretty sure they opened their set at The Joiners with this kick ass tune, and I thought it was brilliant live – let alone in a proper music video. I can’t wait for you guys to experience these beautiful boys live – they are amazing! ❤

I hope you guys have managed to find some awesome new music 🙂 I’m trying to be as diverse as possible! I do need some new tunes thrown my way though, so feel free to suggest some new music to me.

Top 5 Songs of March

I’m 23 next week mofos! WOO!! And in all honesty, I feel better than ever. 23 is MY age man, I can feel it, I’m gonna make it the best year of my life so far. Here are some tunes to go along with that sentiment 😉 Click here for last months top 5.

Remember there is a YouTube playlist which includes all these wonderful songs from each month, and also a Spotify playlist which you can find via searching for ‘jodieharris15‘.

Crash Diet

GENERATION WILD – CRASHDIET
“Riot in the streets, fighting and debris…”

Aahh… the lead singer is absolutely stunning! ❤
I messaged my pal Jayke about this tune actually, reminded me of a song his band had written but neither of us could figure out which one!! Something also tells me that I’m seeing Crashdiet this year at a HRH?
This song is perfect with a collection of cocktails, epic Jeffree Star make-up and backcombed hair.

COULD HAVE BEEN ME – THE STRUTS
“I wanna taste love and pain, I wanna feel pride and shame…”

This is totally my theme tune at the moment. The opening lyrics to this tune sum up exactly how I feel about my career and my JodieBowie/NozFest projects – I want to give everything my absolute all, I am not one to give up on anything at all; I may feel like that every now and again, but everything I truly care about and love keeps the undying fire within me to keep on burning and makes me go out there and achieve my dreams ❤
I’d absolutely love to be a multi-millionaire with my own Download kind of festival, with a proper posh house somewhere by the coast; however, I want to work my backside off just trying to get to that point… and if I don’t reach that ultimate goal I don’t care because I’m having way too much fun along the way that any achievement is 100% worth it! My entire life I’ve put musicians first, and it’s finally paying off – I feel happy with who I am and what I’m accomplishing, I love my new evolving style and my new found love of different music genres – man.. it’s like living in a bubble of bliss just as I am now.

CRAZY BITCH – BUCKCHERRY
“Take it off, the paper is your game, you jump in bed with fame…”

100% blaming Jordan for this one! He recommended it back to me in July, but I was like “nah man, I like Mason Hill.. me don’t need no new music..” – then I heard 27 Days perform it live, and I was like “oh okay, I’m listening” and its been stuck in my head ever since.
Total bad ass tune! I play it when doing my make-up, and my make-up actually turns out exactly how I want it to look if I was a front-woman for a metal band. This song paired with stilettos, a leopard print jacket, my current figure AND Jeffree Star’s Blood Sugar Palette…. aaaaahhhhh…… *faints*….. get me a MASSIVE glass of white wine please – 12.5% 😉 Stick me in one of those cages in Sound Circus and I’ll show you what it’s really all about!

YOU CAN’T KILL MY ROCK ‘N’ ROLL – HARDCORE SUPERSTAR
“The sound will make me strong, won’t judge me if I’m wrong…”

Stumbled across this my accident and I’m so happy that I did! Totally fits in with exactly how I am feeling right now. Always great when a random tune sums up everything you’ve ever wanted to scream from the top of your lungs!

BITCH CAME BACK – THEORY OF A DEADMAN
“That all my friends are laughing thinking that we be wrong, well she’s so fucking stupid that she’s singing along…”

I have a very specific person in my mind for this song and it’s so damn satisfying ❤
I love Theory of a Deadman, they are a fantastic band and were totally MY THING when I was 13 😉 I’ve recently just got back into singing their songs again and I’m absolutely loving it. This tune is such an Avril Lavigne/…. type song; just can’t help singing along and loving life ❤
This song pretty much sums up exactly why I am so fed up at the moment and just want to be left alone for a while.

I feel like this months song choices have been very glam and 80’s-esque for some reason! To be fair I have been wearing a lot more leopard print, rings and things with spikes on lately so that would probably explain the vibe I am kind of going for 😉 I hope you guys have enjoyed this months Top 5, feel free to send me recommendations – I’m currently desperate for some new music to enter my life and ears.
