JodieBowie: Why You SHOULD Check Out ALL The Bands at NOZFEST 2023!

It’s that time of the year AGAIN! Where I show you exactly why not only should you come to NOZFEST 2023… but why you should check out ALL the acts on the line-up. You wouldn’t want to miss out on this year, I promise.
www.nozfest.org

We are currently down to LESS than 100 tickets!! So make sure you don’t hang around for too long. Hopefully this blog will help you to decide whether it is worth coming along…..! It is by the way 😉
>>>>>> TICKETS <<<<<<<

CHEZ KANE
Something very different to what our Nozzers are used to seeing. We have a wonderful rock ‘n’ roll badass lady headlining! It’s about time I had a female headliner, I’m sure many will agree. There’s so many phenomenal female front bands out there right now, we’re really spoilt for choice. It’s such a pleasure to have Chez Kane at Nozfest, I feel like it’s been a long time coming; this lady is a literal powerhouse, and she’ll blow you away with her epic vocals. Her stage performance is one to be admired, and her band doesn’t let her down at all, together they put on one hell of a show. It’s fantastic to see Chez going out there and smashing a solo career, and watching her live her best life up on stage will get you buzzing from your head right down to your tippy toes too. Trust me, watching that chick kick ass will start a fire in your belly, that’ll you want to be the next Chez Kane ❤
(Thing We Do) When We’re Young In Love
Rocket On The Radio
Alone Cover

Hollowstar
Back for round 2 we have Hollowstar! So if you missed them back in 2021, this is your sign not to miss out again. These boys are badass, as are most of the bands on this line-up. Hollowstar is here to give you attitude and big riffs with a thick sound. If you weren’t a fan before, you will be after you see these guys hit our stage. These guys are a NWOCR staple, so if you haven’t heard of them before, where have you been?! They have graced the stage with the likes of Dan Reed Network, Mason Hill and Florence Black to name but a few. They were a massive hit with our 2021 crowd, and we know that this year will be no different. So get yourselves down the front for this act!
Let You Down
Feel The Burn
Good Man Gone

Collateral
Again?! Oh yes, they are back! Sadly due to Covid related reasons Collateral were unable to return in 2022, so we’ve brought them back for 2023 to make up for it! Are you as excited as we are for their return? BOY, if none of the other bands get your feet moving, your head banging and your blood pumping… then these definitely will! Injecting you with a dose of Bon Jovi 80’s goodness to get you ready for even more 80’s throw backs later in the evening, this band is the perfect warm up for our headliner. Their tunes are guaranteed to stay in your head for the rest of the weekend, there is no way you’ll be walking away from the venue without singing along. If you’ve not seen Collateral before, you’ll be asking yourself why.
Merry Go Round
Mr. Big Shot
Can’t Hold Me Down

South of Salem
For starters, this band is the only band in this year’s line-up that is LOCAL! So if you haven’t heard them before (how?!) now is the perfect time to check out some talent from the South Coast. This will be the band’s second return to the 1865, the first time they played the venue was back in 2020 when they headlined our first ever social distanced show in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Of course the show sold out! If you get down the front to check this band out, you’ll instantly see why they are causing such a scene right now, especially after their recent tours with Wednesday 13 and W.A.S.P. Want something a bit darker? A bit more gothic? Something… different? Then THIS is the band you want to make sure you see. So those tickets you’re waiting to buy? Don’t hang around, because this is a band you do not want to miss.
Cold Day In Hell
Pretty Little Nightmare
Let Us Prey

Beth Blade & The Beautiful Disasters
Having played Nozfest twice before in 2019 and 2021, it’s very clear by now that this band is a Nozfest favourite… you’ll have to come along to see why! This is one full on bad ass chick, who’ll you’ll fall in love with instantly, because you just can’t help it. Also helps that she writes some epic bangers too! There’s a lot of love from Beth to her fans, and they amplify that love right back, it’s a joyous sight to witness. This band is going to go far, and are quickly gaining momentum, with epic reasons! They may be playing many festivals and shows this year, but believe me, no show will compare to the one they will bring to NOZFEST!
So many great memories have been made with this band on the bill, which is exactly why you wouldn’t want to miss out!
Tonight I’m With You
Jack and Coke
Sin Eater

These Wicked Rivers
What a band! Want something loud, riffy, big, bluesy, ballsy, and groovy? Well this band has all that to offer and more. These Wicked Rivers will hook you in and won’t let you go until that very last note is played. You’ll be utterly glued to their performances, so forget about heading to the bar for the next pint… cos this band won’t give you the chance.
I bet you’ll be happy you checked this band out when you go skipping to their merch table at the end of the show.
Testify
Shine On
Won’t Be Broken

Sam Millar & The Sass Bandits
Aahh, an original Nozzer from all the way back in 2019, except Sam was part of Bigfoot. Now he makes a return to Nozfest as a solo artist, and he definitely will not disappoint. He is here to serve pure cheese! Everyone needs a bit of 80’s cheese in their lives, it makes the world go round, and this guy has perfected the art of great tunes packed full of 80’s with just the right amount of cheese. He’ll make you feel like you’ve just stepped foot off the set of a movie. You’ll be bopping along, rocking out, living your best lives to these tunes. You definitely won’t want to miss out, as Sam’s performances will leave you will a smile that shines from ear to ear.
Forbidden
Sober
Let Me Yet

White Raven Down
You may have seen these guys at Nozlite or Rock For Ukraine, but this time they are here to bring the thunder to Nozfest! Or should I say…. The Conspiracy? 😉
White Raven Down have always proved themselves to be real crowd pleasers, and this time will be no exception. This band is jam packed with energy, electrifying solos, and a groove that pulls you in to listen. Again something a little heavier compared to the rest of this line-up, but they add a great addition making sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Roll Of The Dice
Salvation
Masquerade

Black Lakes
A band that’s been turning heads for a while now, about time we brought them down South. Want something heavier, harder riffs, darker? Then this band will be the one for you. They are a band that’ll draw you in, leave you intrigued and make you wonder why you haven’t heard more from them. There is definitely an alt-rock vibe there that could be likened to 30 Seconds To Mars, meaning Black Lakes will add a lot of variation to this line-up – there is definitely a band for everyone on this bill and this band is going to be one you want to keep an eye on. They’re on quite a few festivals this year, and it’s easy to see why. I for one am definitely going to make sure I am not distracted for their set!
Dissident
Deathrone
Fragments

VAMBO
It’s so lovely to have a band from my very own booking agency roster on this line-up! And what a band! These guys are 100% going to get the party started! Not getting down early would be a CRIME, and you’ll only be letting yourself down because these guys will be the talk of the day for sure. I’m certain a lot of people are going to have a new favourite once they see Vambo play, and I promise I’m not being biased at all.
Their cover of ‘Burn’ is something that HAS to be seen to be believed. Vambo put the fun, passion and enthusiasm back into rock ‘n’ roll, which is exactly why you should get down when the doors open so you can make up your mind for yourselves.
Doors open at 12:30pm – see you there 😉
Why Why Why
World of Misery
Burn (Cover)

So will we be seeing you at Nozfest 2023? Don’t forget this event is family friendly, so all ages are welcome! Tickets are selling, so make sure you don’t think about it too much as you may risk missing out.
Food will be available on the day, we have a fully functioning bar which is reasonably priced, an outside smoking area, air conditioning inside, parking near the venue, situated in the town centre so we are near public transport and hotels, and we pride ourselves on our friendly and inclusive atmosphere 🙂 What’s not to love?

Hope to see you at Nozfest!

Gigs Coming Up On The SOUTH COAST You Should ATTEND

SO! Gigs are potentially going to be a thing again!! HALLELUJAH!!! Some are of course still going to be socially distanced and restricted… but some could be genuinely normal! To celebrate the occasison I’m listing a few gigs I think you should attend in the South Coast area (Bournemouth/Southampton) that are coming up in 2021.

Most of these events are New Wave of Classic Rock Bands, and they mostly take place in Southampton!
Tickets to all the events are listed under each event – just click on the blue link 🙂

STOP, STOP! (The 1865)
Friday 21st May
This show just so happens to be the re-opening of The 1865 in Southampton, as it’ll be the first gig that takes place after the Lockdown 3.0! So that’s reason enough to come down and support live music and music venues… BUT… not only is it a re-opening show, it is a Stop, Stop! show, with support from Spyder Byte! Stop, Stop! also have an album coming out 1st May, so this’ll be a chance to catch some of the songs in the flesh, fresh off the CD press.
Tickets

KING CREATURE (The 1865)
Sunday 23rd May
If you like your heavier rock and metal, then this is a gig you’re going to want to get yourself to! It is of course another social distanced show, but that isn’t an issue with bands of this calibre on the bill.
Tickets

GIN ANNIE (The 1865)
Saturday 5th June
Gin Annie are headlining a Rock Night down at The 1865 in Southampton – with support from some pretty sweet bands, Gallows Circus and Crooked Shapes. That’s one tasty NWOCR line-up if you ask me! I’d grab some tickets while there is still some hanging about 😉
Tickets

SKINNY KNOWLEDGE (Canvas)
Friday 9th July
This will be the bands debut live show! So that is already one heck of a reason to get yourself down to Canvas in Bournemouth – I’m also going to assume it’ll be their album launch show too, so it is practically two-in-one. I believe Black Tree Vultures are the support band, and this will be the perfect time to catch their new line-up.
Tickets

The Treatment – Headliners at Nozfest 2021

NOZFEST (The 1865)
Saturday 14th August
Ah yes! Nozfest is BACK!! This line-up is slightly different to the one originally planned for 2020, but it is still a cracker! The headliners for the night are The Treatment, who will have just released their new album, with support from Mason Hill who’s debut album is currently making waves. This event features 10 of the very best up and coming New Wave of Classic Rock and is one not to be missed. This event is family friendly at kicks off at 12:30pm.
Tickets

THE QUIREBOYS (The 1865)
Thursday 2nd September
Oh it’s 7 o’clock… you know what that means? It’s time for a party!! The Quireboys have been around since 1984, and they still know how to bring the fun – the show no signs of slowing down. I definitely recommend getting down to this show, especially if you are a sucker for 80’s music.
Tickets

LA GUNS (Engine Rooms)
Thursday 9th September
These real life 80’s legends are making a beeline down to the South Coast for a show in Southampton! These guys are original rock ‘n’ rollers and are a total treat to watch – so it’ll be a show not worth missing in my opinion.
Tickets

MASSIVE WAGONS (Engine Rooms)
Wednesday 15th September
Another exciting treat for those who live their New Wave of Classic Rock! The one and only Massive Wagons are coming to Southampton on their ‘House of Noise’ tour, and their support is no other than an equally awesome band… The Lazy’s! I cannot express enough how awesome this show is going to be. It is going to blow your mind!
Tickets

CATS IN SPACE (Engine Rooms)
Thursday 16th September
This awesome band was formed in 2015 by Greg Hart and Steevi Bacon. If you like your rock and power pop, then this band will be one for you. They’ve supported bands such as The Sweet, Bonnie Tyler & Status Quo as well as being added to the BST Hyde Park Phil Collins line-up in 2017.
Tickets

INGLORIOUS (Engine Rooms)
Sunday 19th September
Heading out on tour for the release of their album ‘We Will Ride’, you can catch this band in Southampton. Inglorious are a band who shouldn’t be missed! They bring epic rock and roll tunes alongside immense professional performances, making them a really sought after band. Nathan’s vocals are absolutely stunning and will blow your mind every single time.
Tickets

MASON HILL (The Joiners)
Tuesday 21st September
Catch this band down South on their debut album “Against The Wall” tour. I believe their support/special guests for this show are the awesome young band Hollowstar. Again, I really urge you to get down and see this band – they are absolutely incredible and if you have a chance to see them live, you should do it!!
Tickets

WILDHEARTS (Engine Rooms & Madding Crowd)
Saturday 25th September & Saturday 12th September)
We are lucky in the fact we have a choice to pick from with The Wildhearts! They are on the South Coast TWICE! You can see them on the 12th in Bournemouth (Madding Crowd) or the 25th in Southampton (Engine Rooms)… or you could just go to both.
Tickets < Bournemouth, Southampton > Tickets

SURREAL PANTHER (The 1865)
Friday 22nd October
Did someone say………….. Surreal Panther?! YES! The tribute band to the iconic and loveable Steel Panther are coming to Southampton, with support from the new up and coming Bournemouth band Skinny Knowledge. What an absolute treat! Who doesn’t love some 80’s tongue in cheek hair metal.
Tickets

NOZLITE (The 1865)
Saturday 5th November
The first of it’s kind! The mini-Nozfest in the form of the inaugural NOZLITE. Headliners for this show are our Welsh friends Florence Black, a band who is always highly anticipated no matter where they play. Our support acts for our first Nozlite are White Raven Down, Scarlet Rebels and the Wicked Jackals.
Tickets

BLACK WATER COUNTY (The Joiners)
Saturday 13th November
A local band who always go down an absolute treat with audiences near and far. I recommend booking your tickets early for this show, because most Black Water County gigs end up selling out! So you’re not going to want to miss out on seeing these foot stomping, pirate country rock ‘n’ roll band blow your minds – one more beer wont hurt 😉
Tickets

BAD TOUCH (The Joiners)
Wednesday 1st December
What a way to kick off the last month of 2021 than a show with Bad Touch and Piston! Both bands are epic and always out on a banging show, so definitely get down to this one if you can because it’ll be the best way to see out the year, believe me! I think Black Tree Vultures may also be supporting this show… but don’t take my word for it in case I’m wrong.
Tickets

BROKEN WITT REBELS (The Joiners)
Saturday 18th December
Catch Broken Witt Rebels on their OK Hotel tour! I believe this is a rescheduled date, so if you’ve been thinking of tagging along to this show for a while… now is your time!! These are a popular band with NWOCRockers, so if you’re thinking of going to any of the shows already listed… you might as well pop down to this one as well 😉
Tickets

I hope some of these gigs may tickle your fancy – maybe I’ll even see you at one or two! 😉

If more gigs get added down South in the upcoming months, then I shall do a PART 2!

Feel free to check me out on my social media platforms, maybe give me a cheeky follow? 😉 I’m always posting music/rock’n’roll related content!
